Beijing Study Tour on History, Culture and National Affairs

28/04/2025

40 Secondary 4 students from our school participated in the 5-day Beijing Study Tour between April 18 and April 22, 2025.

By visiting the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall and the National Museum of China, students gained a better understanding of the features of Chinese history and culture and became more aware of our country's efforts in heritage conservation and cultural inheritance. Through the courtyard house visit (the Hutong tour), students explored the life of Beijing residents back in the days. Students’ understanding of intangible cultural heritage was also enhanced by participating in the exchange activities with local students in the Chinese Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts (NACTA) and watching the Peking Opera performances.

Through visiting the China Aviation Museum, 798 Art District, the Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium and the Water Cube, students learned about contemporary China’s achievements in aerospace technology, cultural and creative arts and architecture. When visiting Baidu, a famous local enterprise, students had the opportunity to learn about the country’s latest development of driverless cars, artificial intelligence and smart mobility. Attending the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square early in the morning was also an unforgettable and valuable experience for students to enhance their national identity.
